We all have to do our part to keep the private prisons in business...

Florida Bill HB 137. Finally, a piece of legislation that'll get the really dangerous criminals off the streets. Assuming the legislation passes, anyone caught going over the speed limit by 30 mph or more, will face 5-10 years in prison, vehicle confiscation, and a ten year license suspension. Originally only targeted at motorcyclists, the Florida legislature thoughtfully changed the bill to include all motor vehicles.

Personally, I think the bill doesn't go far enough. We have to teach people to OBEY THE LAW. Once a speeder, always a speeder, I say. The penalty, in my opinion, ought to be summary execution. On the roadside. Of course, they'd have to make sure the criminal paid the fine first. But hey, that's what credit card readers are for.

Let's hear it for public safety! Let's hear it for the Police State!
